It was not the crash that killed me
It was the silence following it
I started to realize that I would never fly with this crew again
What happened to them anyway?
Some of them died, others bailed out
I hope they make it back to join a new crew, complete their tour and retire peacefully.
I watched the plane from a distance.
Despite the impact she still looked very much like the plane I knew,
but for sure she would never fly again.
Soon people would come taking parts of her, mutilate her beyond recognition.
The thought made me sick, but there was little I could do, I was not safe either.
It was time for me to move on.
